Eve Brown is a certified hot mess. No matter how hard she strives to do right, her life always goes horribly wrong—so she’s given up trying. But when her personal brand of chaos ruins an expensive wedding (someone had to liberate those poor doves), her parents draw the line. It’s time for Eve to grow up and prove herself—even though she’s not entirely sure how…

Jacob Wayne is in control. Always. The bed and breakfast owner’s on a mission to dominate the hospitality industry—and he expects nothing less than perfection. So when a purple-haired tornado of a woman turns up out of the blue to interview for his open chef position, he tells her the brutal truth: not a chance in hell. Then she hits him with her car—supposedly by accident. Yeah, right.

Now his arm is broken, his B&B is understaffed, and the dangerously unpredictable Eve is fluttering around, trying to help. Before long, she’s infiltrated his work, his kitchen—and his spare bedroom. Jacob hates everything about it. Or rather, he should. Sunny, chaotic Eve is his natural-born nemesis, but the longer these two enemies spend in close quarters, the more their animosity turns into something else. Like Eve, the heat between them is impossible to ignore—and it’s melting Jacob’s frosty exterior.

„the world would be a much better place if they stopped congratulating themselves on being normal and started to accept that there were countless different normals.“

Compared to her older sisters, Eve is the messy and chaotic one and their parents have had enough. They kicked her out of the house and cut off her trust fund until she proves herself to them. She can get it back but she needs to support herself first and keep a job for a year. Castle Cottage Bed-and-Breakfast is looking for a new chef and Eve, with no chef experience, thinks that she’s right for the position. Jacob Wayne, the grumpy owner of the B&B, is not impressed with Eve but he desperately needs a new chef so he agrees try her skills. He is about to tell her this when Eve accidentally runs him over with her car resulting to a concussion and some serious injuries. She feels responsible and he doesn’t have much of a choice, so they end up working together.

I’m not going pick a favorite sister anymore because they’re all amazing! Eve is as beautiful and wonderful as her two sisters. Her character was very relatable to me especially the „act your age“ part. I honestly found him very arrogant at first but it didn’t take long for me to change my opinion about him. I just wanted to give him a hug! Eve and Jacob complement each other perfectly. The chemistry is there right from the beginning. I loved that they accept each other, flaws and all. Just like with the previous books in the series, the way the author explores mental illness is very commendable.

This book is more character-driven. The author is really talented and she knows how to write witty and hilarious banter. She obviously has a gift for writing humorous and sexy moments. I laughed so hard with the „M’Baku“ scene. The appearances of the Chloe, Dani, and the whole gang was so much fun to read. It’s just probably me but I wanted to see more from the gingerbread festival and I wished the epilogue are much longer.

Overall, this was a wonderful and satisfying end to the Brown Sisters series. I’m quite sad that this is the last book in the series but I’m very hopeful that I’ll be seeing these characters again. The author hinted about a new series featuring the Montrose siblings and I’m really excited. I highly recommend the Brown Sisters series!
