2019 Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag

Hey guys! It’s time to freak out again because we have already reached the half of 2019 which is pretty insane. But on a very positive note, I have already completed my Goodreads reading goal which is to read 33 books. So far, I read 56 books which is really amazing because there are still 6 reading months left. Last year I read a total of 57 books (which was still great of course). Mid-Year Book Freak Out

It’s July! What? How did that happen? I honestly cannot believe that we’re in the middle of 2018 already BUT I am not complaining at all. I’m excited for November because we will be visiting my family in the Philippines. Yey! Anyway, I’m here for the Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag. I have a great reading months so far so I’m not really freaking out. My goal this year is to read 10 books and I have read 40 books already. I’m all for „quality over quantity“ this year! Anyway, here is my Mid Year Book Freak Out last year if you are interested on reading it. Continue reading „Mid-Year Book Freak Out“

Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag

IT’S OFFICIALLY JULY! Like 4 days ago already. Yesterday, I went to a craft store and they’re already selling Halloween costumes and Christmas decorations. What? Anyway, I think it’s better to buy these stuff earlier because they are cheaper compared on buying them during the holidays. I didn’t buy any because I still have the decorations from the last years. Wait, what am I actually rambling here? Okay. Continue reading „Mid Year Book Freak Out Tag“

Day 1 of 3 Days 3 Quotes Challenge

How are you guys doing? I hope you’re having a great day and if not, let me remind you that tomorrow is Friday! Friday makes me happy even I’m not really working.

Three days ago, I was nominated (on my old blog) by Valeria to do the „3 Days 3 Quotes Challenge“. Thank you Val for the nomination!

The rules are simple

Thank the person who nominated you.
Post one quote each day for 3 days (it can be anybody’s quote, even yours. Make sure you credit it properly), and lastly,
Tag 3 different bloggers everyday.

Let’s do this!

My first quote is from Haruki Murakami’s Norwegian Wood.

“If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking.”

Murakami is one of my favorite authors and this quote is one of my favorites. For me, these lines tell us to explore more books (or genres) and read not only the „hyped“ ones but also those books written by indie and not famous authors.

The Ultimate Book Tag

I haven’t seen the last episode of TWD even it’s already available in SkyGo since Monday. I’m trying not to because I want to prepare myself for it. But I got spoiled just NOW! I hate it.

It’s been a while since I posted a book tag. Thanks to Summer of XingSings for tagging me. I really love your name.

Do you get sick while reading in the car?

Yes. Even if I’m not reading especially when I’m on the back seat. But I’m okay reading in the train or airplane.

Which author’s writing style is completely unique to you and why?

As of now, I can only think of Haruki Murakami. Not only his writing style is unique but also his characters. His use of words are amazing.

Harry Potter Series or the Twilight Saga? Give 3 points to defend your answer.

I haven’t read the Twilight Saga but I saw the movie adaptations. I’ve read two books from Harry Potter series and I love them so I’ll go with HP. 1) Magical 2) Awesome Characters 3) Hogwarts

1. Do you carry a book bag? If so, what is in it (besides books)?

I always have a book in my bag together with my ipod, wallet, planner, ballpen, candies, hand lotion, keys, and kindle.

2. Do you smell your books?

Yes, especially if it’s a new book. The smell is divine.

3. Books with or without little illustrations.

With illustrations. Like mangas, graphic novels or any books with pictures.

4. What book did you love while reading but discovered later it wasn’t quality writing?

Not really sure. I’m a „late bloomer“ in reading.

5. Do you have any funny stories involving books from your childhood? Please share!

Not really. I read comics a lot when I was a kid. Probably the funny thing was I read comics not suitable for kids.

6. What is the tinniest book on your shelf?

My copy of Virginia Woolf’s To The Lighthouse. I bought it recently from a book sale in a library near our place.

7. What is the thickest book on your shelf?

My paperback copy of Haruki Murakami’s 1Q84 (Book 1-3). It is 1,328 pages

8. Do you write as well as read? Do you see yourself in the future as being an author?

I enjoy reading more. I do write, but it’s just for my journal.

9. When did you get into reading?

After reading Angels and Demons by Dan Brown in 2010.

10. What is your favourite classic book?

I haven’t read a lot of classic but I love The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien.

11. In school what was your best subject Language Arts/English?

I don’t get this question. I don’t really had a favorite subject but I like Accounting, Psychology and History.

12. If you were given a book as a present that you had read before and hated, what would you do?

I will still accept it. I can keep it or give it to someone. He/She might like it.

13. (Apparently Question 16 was supposed to be here, but now it’s disappeared?)

I’m not sure with this. Haha.

14. What is a bad habit you always do (besides rambling) while blogging?

I get disturbed easily. I have so much posts in my Drafts folder.

15. What is your favorite word?

Inevitable and fathom.

16. Are you a nerd, dork, or dweeb? Or all of the above?

According to google, dweeb means „a boring, studious, or socially inept person“. I think I’m half nerd and half dweeb.

17. Vampires or Fairies? Why?

Fairies. I love magical creatures.

18. Shapeshifters or Angels? Why?

I think Shapeshifters. Their ability to transform into another form sounds cool.

19. Spirits or Werewolves? Why?

Spirits. I’m into paranormal things.

20. Zombies or Vampires? Why?

Zombies.

21. Love Triangle or Forbidden Love?

Forbidden Love except „Romeo and Juliet“ type. More of Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma.

22. And finally: Full on romance books or action-packed with a few love scenes mixed in?

It depends on my mood. Sometimes I want gore stories with romance. Haha.

There you go. I’m not sure why it’s only 22 questions but they’re 25 if you’ll add the first 3. Feel free to do the tag.

I still can’t move with the „spoiler“ thing. Have a great weekends ♥

#whatisloveinfourwords Tag

giphy

Valentine’s Day is done. We (me and B) don’t really make this a „special“ day even it is also our anniversary date (it’s our third year! Yay!). The thing is, we celebrate it everyday. No special occassions needed.

The Enchanted Book tagged me to do this #whatisloveinfourwords tag. Thank you so much. I love doing tags.

The Rules:

  • Write ten sentences about what you think of love in four words
  • Add your favourite love quote from a movie, book or person
  • Tag 10 other people to do this tag

Love is…

  1. „After all this time“
  2. „Fries and Choco Sundae“

  6. „The day we met“

Book Tag : The Social Media Book Tag

A cool book tag I saw from Inspired by Literature’s blog. You just have to think of a book (books) which you can connect to the following social media websites. I have an account in all of these websites except Myspace (well I used to have one) and you can also follow or add me if you want. Just check out my About Me page. So, let’s start.

Twitter – your favorite shortest book.

It’s Six Earlier Days by David Levithan. It’s the prequel of Levithan’s Every Day and it’s only available in ebook. I’ve read Every Day first before Six Earlier Days. A short read with so much emotions.

Facebook – a book everyone pressured you into reading.

I can’t think of any. My friends recommend books to me but they don’t pressure me (or something like that) to read them. For example, I’m currently reading Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma because most of my friends recommended this book.

Tumblr – a book you read before it was cool.

Uhmm. Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher and The Fault In Our Stars by John Green. I’ve read both back in 2012. Can you blame me if I sometimes feel irritated because TFIOS became overated specially before and after the movie was released?

Myspace – a book you don’t remember if you liked or not.

It’s probably the Matched Trilogy by Ally Condie. As far as I can remember I got hooked on the first book and then I can’t remember anymore how I felt with the second and the final book.

Instagram – a book so beautiful you had to instagram it.

This is quite hard. I’m choosing Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and Hollow City by Ransom Riggs. Not just the cover but also the photos inside and the story as well.

Youtube – a book you wish would be turned into a movie.

I think it’s Wonder by RJ Palacio. It may have a simple plot but it will definitely move you.

Goodreads- a book you recommend to everyone.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I’ve read this recently and watched the movie as well. It’s really one of the must reads, either you’re into historical book or not.

I had fun even this tag is short. Feel free to do this and don’t forget to comment your link. 🙂
