Weekly meme hosted by Broke and Bookish.

August 25: Top Ten Books That Would Be On Your Syllabus If You Taught X 101 (examples: YA fantasy 101, feminist literature 101, magic in YA 101, classic YA lit 101, world-building 101)

This week’s topic is interesting and it’s quite hard for me to choose just one syllabus so I’ve decided to choose two. These books are my favorites and I highly recommend them.

• Books on my syllabus “Badass Female Characters 101”

Divergent Series by Veronica Roth – Aside from Tris, there are also some badass chicks here who knows how to fight with their bare hands.
The Hunger Games Trilogy by Suzanne Collins – I adore Katniss’ love for her family and her determination. I am not Team Peeta or Team Gayle.
A Game of Thrones by George RR Martin – This is so far the only book I’ve read from the ASOIAF series and my favorites are Daenerys Targaryen, Arya Stark, and Osha.
Cinder by Marissa Meyer – A female cyborg who don’t really need a man to protect herself.
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak – Liesel is badass on her own way. She loves to read and write. Enough said.

• Books on my syllabus “Fantasy 101”

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern – This is so far the most amazing and magical circus I know. Second place I want to visit (if i can) next to Hogwarts.
Harry Potter series by JK Rowling – Need I say more?
Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan – Students must read this. Having fun while learning Greek mythology.
The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien – The King of Fantasy, aside from GRRM.
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Caroll – The title speaks for itself.
